Grabbed by the Ghoulies is a video game for Microsoft's Xbox video game system. It was an important chapter in Rare's history because it was the first Rare game to be released with Microsoft Game Studios as a publisher after being bought from Nintendo.

Story
It was a stormy night. Cooper and his girlfriend, Amber, needed to find shelter somewhere on the path to the village. They came across a mansion much like any you would find in an old film. Like most mansions in movies, this mansion was haunted by ghoulies. However, the two teenagers didn't know that, and before they could blink the evil Baron Von Ghoul called on his ghoulies to capture Amber. Sure enough two statues started moving and they carried Amber in the old mansion. Cooper had to think. Would he save Amber? He decided to go inside and rescue her. Meanwhile, Baron Von Ghoul had a plan to capture Cooper as well. Inside the mansion, Cooper must defeat all of the ghoulies and free all of the maidens inside, including Amber. He also must solve the mystery of why the mansion is overun with ghoulies and stop more from appearing.
Gameplay
Characters
- Cooper: Cooper is a teenager who goes inside the mansion in order to rescue his girlfriend Amber. He is quite strong when it comes to bashing the ghoulies.
- Amber: Cooper's girlfriend, a self-willed woman. Of course, that doesn't help her from being kidnapped...
- Crivens: Crivens is the feeble old butler of Ghoulhaven. He trys to help Cooper at any time he needs it.
- Ma Soupswill: A strange chef who, for some reason, leaves little tastes of her stew around Ghoulhaven.
- Mr. Ribs: Ma Soupwill's assistent. He is the only kind skeleton in the manor.

- Dr. Krackpot: A crazy mad scientist.
- Baron Von Ghoul: The owner of the manor and ruler of the goulies.
- The Reaper: The most deadly of the goulies. One touch and Cooper will drop dead.
