Hailfire Peaks is the 7th of 9 levels in Banjo-Tooie. It is rather unique, as half of it is made of fire, and half of it made of ice. Enemies native to Hailfire Peaks are the Hotheads, Flame Hands, Chinkers, and Biggyfoots. Biggafoot, Sabreman, The Boggy family, Mildred Ice Cube, and Gobi (after rescuing him from Witchyworld) live there. The Kickball Tournament has a division on the Lava Side.

Mumbo Jumbo is on the lava Side, and helps you with Revive, a spell used to bring SabreMan out of the ice, and some of the aliens back from the dead. Humba Wumba lives on the Icy Side, and transforms you into a snowball. The bosses are Chilly Willy (Icy Side) and Chilli Billi (Lava Side)

Jiggies

Note: The Icy/Lava Side at the beginning means which side you will be in when you get the Jiggy.

The Jiggies found in Hailfire Peaks are:

  • Icy Side: Attained by going through the Stomping Plains in Terrydactyland by Banjo alone. You end up in a room with the Jiggy.
  • Both Sides: Attained by defeating both Chilly Willy and Chilli Billi.
  • Icy Side: Attained by giving Boggy a fish in the Lava Side pool.
  • Icy Side: Found in Grunty Industries. Activate the oil drill as a snowball to bring it out. Get it with Shack Pack.
  • Lava Side: Found in the valcano. Activate all of the switches in it.
  • Lava Side: Attained by beating the Kickball Tournament.
  • Lava Side: Attained by activating several switches on the collesium.
  • Lava Side: Attained by bringing Sabreman to his tent.
  • Icy Side: Given to you by the alien father when bringing his family together.
  • Icy Side: Attained by reaching the Icy Side train station with Chuffy.

Jinjos

The Jinjos found in Hailfire Peaks are:

  • Icy Side: Found inside Mildred Ice Cube by killing her with Bill Drill.
  • Lava Side: Found in the pool with Boggy's fish.
  • Icy Side: Found by Gliding with Kazooie in the Icicle Grotto.
  • Lava Side: Attained by using Wonderwing to get through the firefall at the collesium.
  • Icy Side: Attained by rolling as a giant snowball to get past a gust of wind.

Landmarks

The landmarks will be listed by Lava Side and Icy Side.

Lava Side

Sabreman's Tent: A tent owned by former Rare hero Sabreman. Behind it is a shortcut to another part of the Lava Side.

Kickball Collesium: A giant collesium hosting the Stony kickball tournament. With many alcoves inside and outside it, it is very hard to find everything in it.

Train Station: The Lava Side Train Station. It is the only of them to have a natural hazard (lava). when first entering it, Chuffy's engine overheats, making it impossible to get to the Ice side Train Station. This is fixed with Gobi (once again) having his back busted to spit out water.

Volcano: A volcano. There is a Jiggy in it. It is so hot, it is almost void of oxygen. Spending too long there leads to death. Remarkably leads to the Ice Side.

Ice Side

Boggy's House: The igloo where Boggy's family currently resides. With the new flat-screen TV, Boggy has became rather portly.

Oil Refinery: An oil digger. Judging by the name, you can tell that it digs for oil. The only thing it has dug for years a Jiggy.

Icicle Grotto: A large cave filled with icicles. Kazooie learns Glide here.

Wumba Transformation

Along with the innovation of the level, the transformation is innovative. It is a snowball. Whenever it is hurt, it will decrease in size, making it able to go into smaller areas. Rolling in the snow will make it grow, letting it crush heavy objects. Letting the snowball try to live in the Fire Side giving it literally a snowball's chance in Hell.

Boss

With two sides, Hailfire Peaks has two bosses. They are:

Chilly Willy: Chilly Willy is in the Ice Side. He is reached by having him spit an icicle on Biggafoots's toe. You can the use Claw Clamber Boots to climb the mountain to him. He will attack when you didn't bring his pizza. Chilly is ice, which melts with fire. There are cannons around the stage that magnify eggs. Shoot Fire Eggs at him. This will hurt him. Several of these attacks will kill him.

Chilli Billi: Chilli Billi is in the Fire Side. He is reached by having him spit a fireball on a dilicipated house, exposing a Fly Pad. Banjo then can fly to Chilli. He is disposed of the same way as Chilly, except with Ice Eggs.

Note: Whichever dragon you attack second has more health then the first.
