Biography
Klungo is a giant humanoid frog-like creature who fills the role of mad scientist and crony in the games. He walks with a limp and has a pronounced lisp, as well as asymmetrical eyes. He wears a white coat, enhancing his scientist appearance. Up until the end of Banjo-Tooie, Klungo worked as Gruntilda's lackey; however, he has since quit and moved on to video game design. He is apparently married to a "Mrs. Klungo," although she has never been seen.
In the Games
Banjo-Kazooie
In Banjo-Kazooie, Klungo first appears in the cutscene showing Gruntilda and Tooty in the Beauty Stealing Machine, built by Klungo himself. He tells his mistress that it needs to power up, but will soon be ready. Oddly, he is not seen for the rest of the game (other than the Game Over sequence, which features him pulling the switch and turning Grunty beautiful and Tooty hideous) until after Gruntilda's defeat by Banjo and Kazooie -- at the very end of the game, Klungo is seen trying to shift the boulder keeping Grunty underground.

In Banjo-Tooie, the story begins with Klungo still, after two full years, trying to move the boulder off of Gruntilda's grave. Eventually, he dejectedly gives up -- just as Gruntilda's two sisters, Mingella and Blobbelda arrive and blast the rock to bits. As his mistress rises out of the hole she has been stuck in for two years, Klungo celebrates heartily (at one point, giving her a pat on the back which knocks out her loose eye -- a sight which horrifies Klungo). After Mumbo Jumbo is spotted spying on the group and Grunty chases him to Banjo's house, blasting it to pieces, Klungo is left behind as the witch trio leaves in the HAG 1 drill tank. Klungo attempts to follow it, but Grunty tells him to say behind for now. The next morning, as he notices Banjo and Kazooie approaching, he waits for them in the tunnel created by the HAG 1. When they arrive inside, he swallows a potion and fights them and loses. He runs off to Cauldron Keep, vowing to return with a better potion and mentioning the beatings Grunty will give him. The next time he is seen is in another digger tunnel further into the Isle o' Hags, and he is noticeably battered. He attempts to defeat them again using his new potion, but loses once more, and once more returns to Cauldron Keep for more beatings. His final appearance is in the very first room of Cauldron Keep -- this time even more battered and bruised -- where he tries for a final time to defeat Banjo and Kazooie with one last potion. After failing again, he begins to notice that working for Grunty is not doing him any favors, and that "Mrs. Klungo" won't want anything to do with him if he becomes anymore bruised. He then leaves, with aspirations to get a nice desk job, like designing video games. He stops by King Jingaling's Throne Room and then he and Jingaling visit Bottles' House for a party. In the end sequence, Klungo is seen sleeping in a corner in full party gear, and Bottles remarks that he managed to eat everything in the house.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts
In Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, Klungo did indeed go on to work as a game designer after leaving Grunty in Banjo-Tooie, as he owns an arcade in Showdown Town named (quite aptly) Klungo's Arcade and the games company "Klungosssoft" (the staff of which consists solely of Klungo himself). Players can also partake in Klungo's first ever game, Hero Klungo Sssavesss Teh World.
Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge
At the start of Grunty's Revenge, he decided to use his brain and technological skills to build the Mecha-Grunty. In this game, he also appeared multiple times as a boss (reprising his role as boss from Banjo-Tooie).
Banjo-Pilot
Klungo appears as an unlockable playable racer in Banjo-Pilot. His stats are as follows:
- Top Speed: 4/5
- Acceleration: 2/5
- Handling: 2/5
